His father was never around, but when he was at home Taro would be so happy and excited. They used to live in a huge house with so many rooms. Taro could never get tired of running around chasing his sisters, and he would always find the best hiding spots. Especially when he was hiding from the maids after making a big mess.
But after the government took everything and they were relocated in the farm, things changed completely. The family tried to adjust but it was never the same. They never were safe again and his father was forced to work for them in secret projects, at least secret for Taro.
One night, his father came home looking very tired and in a bad mood. The mother told Taro not to bother him, but he could sense something was wrong. That night he heard some noises coming from the backyard, so he sneaked out of his bedroom and went outside. His father was digging in the garden next to a tree, he couldn’t see much but he knew he was hiding something.
-Taro, come here! he whispered when he saw him. This will be yours one day, you have to defend it with your life, you will have to keep our family safe and this will help you. Never tell anyone about its existence. Now go back to bed and don’t tell anyone.
He didn’t understand what he was talking about, but soon enough he knew it was a weapon. The government had forced his father to work for them in a secret assignment. As a scientist he would have never worked on a project like that. They wanted him to develop a weapon that would open new realities and help them expand their Empire.
Taro knew that things were going to get worse, and they did. That’s why he flew as far as he could as soon as the possibility came. Never looking back trying to forget. But sure enough his destiny was sealed that night and it was all about DNA and Dimensions. What he never anticipated was for his daughter to get caught in it as he was. Being also a scientist he could have foreseen that his DNA and hers tied their destinies together…
