This project was a lot of fun to do. For a while now I have been crocheting different things, mostly hats and stuff to wear in winter. What attracts me about this manual task is that it is repetitive and once you have the rythm, you don’t need to be all there. This means that you can think about many things, ponder about book ideas, or characters you want to bring to life, etc. It is also nice because after a not so long period of time, you end up with something you can wear or you can give to your kids and friends.
I really recommend to writers to pick up some manual craft that doesn’t take up your whole attention to let go of their ideas -almost like meditating in motion- and you will see how refreshing it is and satisfying since it converts in a physical object that is tangible and cute.
Not very long ago I read an article about manual crafts and the positive effects that it has on stress and depression. So, if you are in need of some mind space and want to try a new craft, something like crocheting might be your new thing.
