Pumpkins in a field

November is coming fast!

OMG… November is around the corner! and Nanowrimo is starting again! I have so many ideas to write about but I haven’t considered any of them seriously. I guess now is the time to do it. Nano prep started in October and I completely underestimated how fast the days went by, consequently I didn’t start my prepping at all. Oh well, it’s not too late yet. So, I’m polishing my pencils and dusting my notebooks to squeeze a decent idea for a book.

To be completely honest I always have ideas for books and I’ll probably come up with one quite fast. The thing is that you need to ‘brain’ your idea before you can actually start writing about it. In addition, and this is one of the reasons I love Nanowrimo, you are writing a draft so you can try different ideas and develop them and if they don’t work, keep trying and move to another idea. A draft is made for that: to write, write, write and give your best effort. Then, the real work starts. You can’t write a book in a month, but you can have a draft to work with after a month of writing consistently. I will prep this week, though and start an outline. Last year it really helped to have an outline of the story and some of the characters sketched. I will definitely do it again this year. It’s just that I have to do it fast!

These last months I haven’t been around here either, I have to say. And I’m sorry, too. I started posts but they were soon just abandoned in the draft folder. I know, it’s not good to have a ‘dead blog’ and I don’t want mine to be one of those. So I’m bringing it back to life this instant! Rise from the dying and conquer the readers! That’s my command… and my promise. I hope you are also excited about Nanowrimo, and even if you don’t participate, I wish you lots of inspiration for your writing.

Until my next post!
