After jumping back to Terra 1, he found himself in the hotel room in Tsing Ha. It was incredibly silent compared to the noise in the lab with all the shooting and screaming. He looked around, looking for Keiko, shouting her name. A trembling voice responded. Lei was looking at him from the far corner of Keiko’s bedroom, tears in her eyes.
“You made it back! And you have the device!”
“Yes, finally, the dimensions will be closed. Why are you here alone? Where’s Keiko?”
“Well, about that…” the young woman paused for a few seconds that felt the longest of his life. “They took Keiko…and…your device too…”
“What??!! What are you saying?? They?? Who are THEY?”
“The Inner Circle lied to us,” she said sobbing. “Anton said they were going to help us and then he let them seize Keiko and they threw me on the street.”
“But where did they take her? And where is the machine?”
“I don’t know! She hid it somewhere in here, but I can’t find it…”
“Keiko knows better than to tell them… could they have taken it?”
Taro started to look for the device everywhere in the room while Lei started to calm down a little. Suddenly, a bright light blinded them and a loud noise came from the living room window. Both peeked out the bedroom door cautiously, Taro was holding a gun from Terra 2 that he had hidden in his jacket.
“Hey, guys! Sorry about the loud entrance but I had to act fast if I wanted to get away from the Inner Circle’s guards.”
“Keiko!” Yelled her father and friend at the same time. “You’re back! What…?!!”
“Yeah!” She cut him. “Dad I would love to explain more but we should get going, Anton is stuck in Terra 3 and he’s pissed!”
“What do you mean? Going where?”
“Well, you know how you wanted to close the dimensions and all? Anton made me take him to another one, kind of… I call it Terra 3… and now I came back, but he’s sort of… still there.”
“Whaaaat????”
“Sorry, dad! But I had to come back and get you and we need to go there and bring them back!”
“Them?!!” Taro couldn’t believe his ears.
“Well, he kind of brought some police people… something like the Dark Force…”
“Keiko!!!”
“I’m coming with you guys this time!” Interjected Lei.
“God help us all,” sighed Taro while entering the coordinates that Keiko was giving him.
